We’ve covered a great buffalo milk cheese, now it’s time to talk about sheep’s milk cheese. P’tit Basque was introduced in 1997 and is one wheel of sheep milk cheese, much smaller than most.

P'tit basque may be one of the smaller cheese wheels, but it's bursting with delicious taste
P’tit Basque is made with pasteurised sheep’s milk cheese and is aged for 70 days. P’tit Basque also offers a soft, moist texture around the wheel, which is one reason for this cheeses popularity. This is achieved by coating the wheel of cheese in plastic film, once it’s released.
Offering a butter and caramel aroma once unwrapped, P’tit Basque will delight you with a creaminess on the tongue, which also gives way to a sweet and slightly salty taste.

While I do love this cheese, it just can’t compare to some of the raw milk pyrennese cheeses. I especially like Tomme Abbaye de Belloc.
