A chef in New York, attracted unwanted attention by health officials, when it was found that one of his in-house cheeses, was actually made from his wife’s breast milk! We understand that stock can be a pain to buy in…but that’s no solution, surely.
The cheese, named ‘Mommy’s Milk Cheese’ was presented on the menu, with a notice that read “try it as long as supply lasts”. Before health and safety officials stepped in, customers gave their feedback on this in-house creation, saying the cheese was just like regular milk cheese, only slightly sweeter.
Although some surprisingly, positive feedback was given for this cheese, the city’s health department made sure the cheese was taken off the menu, for good.
Don’t get us wrong, trying new things is a small pleasure of life, but with something like this…just make sure you notify people, well in advance, as to exactly what they’re eating, first (like this chef did…bless him).
