When residents of Wakoponeta – Ohio, heard that Neil Armstrong was unable to attend an organized celebration in his birthplace, the residents took it upon themselves to make sure Neil Armstrong would still be present…in the form of a life sized cheese replica.
This incredible work of art, stood six feet tall and had to be moved to the Armstrong Air and Space Museum, by a forklift truck. The replica used the milk of over 280 cows and was created out of 1,800lbs of cheddar. The replica was highly detailed, displaying Neil Armstrong in his full space suit, complete with helmet and space boots.
The town of 10,000 are proud to have such a highly detailed replica and have offered all space enthusiast, to come over and set eyes on this amazing creation, to help commemorate the anniversary of Apollo 11.
